Perforce Software today announced the latest release of its defect tracking gateway (P4DTG), which now includes robust and easily configured integrations with JIRA and Redmine. This release of P4DTG adds all the technology required to implement an integrated solution between Perforce and JIRA, a popular issue tracking and project tracking tool, and Redmine, an open source project management web application. Redmine and JIRA now join HP Quality Center and Bugzilla in the fully-supported lineup of integrations included in P4DTG.

P4DTG includes two primary components, a graphical configuration editor and a replication engine. The visual configuration editor makes it easy to map fields between the defect tracking system and Perforce. The replication engine coordinates the propagation of data between Perforce and the defect tracking system. The system supports the one-way or bi-directional synchronization of data. Changelist information, describing the work done and files changed while addressing a job, can also be replicated to the defect tracking system.
