London, 17th June: Pentagon, the leading managed marketplace services provider, is celebrating a brace of awards at the eBay Motor Awards that reflect a successful year in business for the company in the last 12 months.
This was the second year for the Awards, which celebrates the most exciting sellers on the UK’s largest marketplace for the automotive aftermarket.
Pentagon sponsored the OEM Parts & Accessories eBay Motors Store of the Year category, where all but one nominee was a Pentagon managed client. MINI UK, which has only recently been launched on eBay by Pentagon, were eventual winners of the category.
Commenting on the newly launched digital store, Andy Wilde, Aftersales E-commerce Manager at MINI UK, said: “We know our fans love to personalise their MINIs, and with the launch of a digital store on eBay this is now easier than ever. We’re confident that this new 24/7 outlet will offer a convenient and hassle-free shopping experience for MINI owners and enthusiasts.”
In fact, all but one of Pentagon’s clients took home the awards they were nominated for, including Euro Car Parts, who won the main award of the night, Aftermarket Parts & Accessories eBay Motors Store of the Year. The UK’s leading motor parts distributor were also nominated for the Innovative Seller of the Year Award, following on from the successful implementation of eBay’s Click&Collect programme in all of their branch stores.
Rishi Chhaniara from Euro Car Parts commended the contribution Pentagon had made to their recent success on eBay:
“In the last 6 months we have seen a dramatic increase in our sales on eBay, due to the rapid expansion of our inventory on the site and successful implementation of Click&Collect, both of which were enabled by the team at Pentagon. We have a very close working relationship with Pentagon, and look forward over the next 12 months to leveraging their capabilities on marketplaces to push the Euro Car Parts brand even further.”
The eBay Motor Awards saw some of the world’s biggest names in the motor industry recognised for innovation in the sector, including BMW Group and Perrys Motor Sales Ltd.
Speaking about their success on the night, Pentagon CEO Laurence Guy said, “I would like to thank everybody in our vehicle parts team. They work tirelessly to run these stores, and to win in both the Manufacturer and Retailer categories, demonstrates how nuanced their knowledge is of the sector and how versatile they are as a team.”
eBay customers were invited to vote for winners in seven award categories, in return for entry into a prize draw to win £250 in PayPal vouchers.
