Following the success of its 2010 conferences in Las Vegas, London, Peru and Sydney, Palisade (www.palisade.com) has announced the details of the first event in its annual programme for 2011.  The risk and decision analysis software specialist’s European User Conference will take place in Amsterdam, from 29th to 30th March.

Taking the format of previous events, over the course of the two days, industry experts from a wide variety of market sectors will offer real-world insight through case studies that adopt innovative and interesting approaches to risk and decision analysis.  In addition to a plenary session from Pricewaterhouse Coopers, presentations at the 2011 Amsterdam Risk Conference will include:

- ARCADIS: How to Realize a Project in Time

- Bigen Africa: Estimating Demand for Services through the Characterisation of Towns and Areas through Standard Dwelling Types

- Biomatica: Refining the Business Case for Sustainable Energy Projects

- DNV: Risk-based Models for the Design of Arctic Platforms

- EDP Renovaveis: Application of Palisade @RISK for the Analysis of Risks in the Wind Power Industry

- Graz University of Technology: Application of the Monte-Carlo Method to Determine the Costs for Construction Projects

- ILF Consulting Engineers: Forecasting Cost (at Completion) in Fast-Paced Industrial Construction Projects

- Mott MacDonald: Modelling Known Unknowns – A Case Study for Private Sewers

- Technical University of Denmark and The Decision Modelling Group: Strategic Transport Decision-Making

The event will also include training workshops given by Palisade consultants. In addition, there will be previews of new software in the pipeline from Palisade, including updates to @RISK and the DecisionTools Suite, as well as opportunities to network with other professionals.

Craig Ferri, managing director at Palisade Europe, comments: “Over the years, Palisade’s conference programme has gained a reputation for offering delegates practical advice on better decision-making, and the 2011 event in Amsterdam is no exception.  A wide variety of risk professionals have volunteered to share their knowledge, expertise and experience in the form of case study presentations that will benefit attendees, as well as illustrate the overall importance of risk analysis within the organisation.”

The 2011 Amsterdam Risk Conference is being held at the West Indische Huis, the historic former headquarters of the West India Trading Company.  For a complete schedule of events, plus more information on each presentation, as well as registration details, please go to: http://www.palisade.com/2011/Amsterdam/
