UK Education network to use secure text messaging service across education system

London, 1st April, 2014 - PageOne, the UK's leading messaging solutions provider to the education, public and private sectors, has announced a new four-year contract to provide Janet txt, a secure SMS messaging service to schools, colleges and universities across the UK. Value for money, service capability, resilience and an ISO 27001 accreditation for data security were all key considerations following the comprehensive tendering process. 

The new contract is set to commence on 1 May 2014 for four years, although the new pricing structure will take effect from the 1 April 2014, delivering a new lower SMS messaging price, lower service charges and a host of new functionality to enhance the user experience. With the basic solution free to use and with no on-going commitment required, the PageOne service offered ‘best value' as reflected through pricing, technical and functional capability, integration with third party software and a dedicated Customer Service and support team.

It was recently used in the aftermath of a major campus fire at Strathclyde University, with messages sent out to more than 16,000 students, families and academics alerting them to the disaster and advising them of arrangements for the following day.
