(17 October 2011) – One Horizon Group Plc (“One Horizon Group” or “Company”), leader in optimising communications over the internet, has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Horizon Globex, has entered into a joint venture with Voicecom Technologies Pvt Ltd. (“Voicecom”) to market and distribute its Horizon solution in the Indian market.
Horizon is the world’s most bandwidth efficient VoIP platform. Based on the company’s SmartPacket™ technology, it enables VoIP from only 2kbps compared to around 8kbps from other VoIP platforms. This extends into a range of optimised data applications, including compressed email, accelerated web browsing and optimised instant messaging. It is fully compatible with digital telecommunications standards and is capable of interconnecting any phone system over IP. The platform is deployable in the satellite, fixed and mobile markets.
Under the new collaboration, Horizon Globex India Pvt Ltd will be focusing on providing the Horizon platform to network operators and service providers in the region. Voicecom is based in New Delhi and has operations in Singapore, Thailand, Nepal and the Philippines. The company has over 200 employees serving major telcos in India and countries in the Association of Southeast Asia nations (ASEAN) region.
