SANTA BARBARA, Calif, Linköping, Sweden and LONDON, United Kingdom, - February 1, 2011 - Occam Networks®, Inc. (Nasdaq: OCNW), a leading broadband access supplier offering the BLC 6000 multi-service access platform (MSAP), and Netadmin Systems, European network management specialists, will partner to create comprehensive open access networks that combine both broadband infrastructure and network operations management. Netadmin Systems will become a preferred network management partner for Occam Networks in Europe, opening the way for a number of potential projects including implementations in the UK and Switzerland.
The move follows the completion of interoperability testing that successfully demonstrated Occam’s optical networking equipment is fully compliant and can be managed remotely using Netadmin’s software.
Netadmin Systems develops and markets its open OSS/BSS solution NETadmin, a software platform that automates operational and business processes in open broadband networks, making it an ideal partner for Occam Networks, whose products are also based on open standards in optical communications.
Stefan Asplund, VP Product Marketing at Netadmin Systems, said, “We are delighted with our cooperation with Occam Networks, including the developed interoperability capabilities, which will complement our range of support for open access networking products and solutions.”
Based in Linköping in Sweden, Netadmin Systems has a 60% market share in Sweden and is the Nordic market leader. Both Occam Networks and Netadmin Systems are currently looking to expand their operations internationally and the co-operation will give them a powerful solution for mid-sized companies which require network operations management and who do not have their own platform. It also allows utility companies and other operators with internal expertise to offer network operations and administration as a service to other companies.
Russ Sharer, Vice President of Marketing for Occam Networks, said: “In Europe our customers are asking for a Management solution that meets the unique needs of open networks. Netadmin’s role-based user interfaces allow us to achieve the separation and security between multiple Service Providers and the Access Network Operator that is essential for managing these types of networks.”
Mr. Sharer continued by saying: “The speed with which Netadmin was able to implement the drivers for the management of Occam equipment was very impressive.”
Occam Networks is a well-established US vendor. The company is currently expanding its operations in Europe through the development of a strong value-added reseller network across EMEA, working with organisations in the UK, Sweden, Greece, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovenia, the Adriatic region, Hungary, France, Italy and select areas in the Middle East. The agreement with Netadmin systems will strengthen the company’s European offering in many of these territories.
