« Posted: June 13, 2011, 09:13:42 PM »

Membership adds value to Data Centre design and build solutions and services

Lichfield, 13 June, 2011. NextiraOne, Europe’s leading expert in communications services, today announced its membership in The Green Grid Association. The Green Grid is a global consortium dedicated to advancing resource efficiency in Data Centres. NextiraOne will become a General Member of The Green Grid giving the company access to the organisation’s extensive technical resources and best practice information and sharing.

NextiraOne is a leading player in the Data Centre market, delivering a comprehensive range of services from physical infrastructure to virtualised consolidated solutions and services that deliver real benefit to customers. The company has recently launched its Unified Building Services division which brings together all the technologies and services required for Data Centre customers to design and build the physical environment they require.

By creating comprehensive, end-to-end Data Centre design and build services, NextiraOne has been able to maximise its Green agenda and offer highly energy efficient, sustainable Data Centre solutions to customers. The company carries out thorough assessment of Customers’ entire Data Centre environments and IP infrastructures, from initial energy audits to the design and implementation of power-saving measures and energy efficient technologies, including power, cooling and ventilation, thus delivering innovative carbon-reducing Data Centre solutions.

The Green Grid seeks to provide industry-wide recommendations on best practices, metrics and technologies that will improve overall data centre resource efficiencies. By joining The Green Grid, NextiraOne is helping influence both developers and end users of Data Centre technologies.

Peter Smith, Head of Unified Building Services Practice at NextiraOne, said: “We are delighted to have joined The Green Grid and to be able to share our best practice and learn from fellow members. NextiraOne is committed to helping our customers to reduce their environmental impact and there are many ways in which this can be done. Joining The Green Grid enables us to add more value and to keep pace with the continuing development in carbon-reducing technologies and techniques.”
