Legal industry's leading search technology now available to NYSBA members and website visitors
February 7, 2012 - Recommind, the leader in predictive information management software, today announced that the New York State Bar Association has implemented Recommind's Decisiv Search on the NYSBA.org website. Based on the patented CORE (Context Optimised Relevancy Engine) platform, Recommind's solution provides the association's 77,000 members, as well as website visitors, improved access to extensive content from any page on the site. The search upgrade was part of a technology initiative that included a modernisation of the website to improve the online member experience.
On NYSBA.org, Decisiv Search provides a unified search experience to ensure users find the results they need across more than 10,000 valuable resources, including blogs, listservs and the extensive content of the NYSBA website. All website visitors can easily search and access publicly available content, but members can also log in and access member-only content on the website from within the same search. Results can be filtered by content type, author, category and other site-specific criteria for quick access to relevant information. Most importantly, users are instantly directed to the most important results for certain frequent searches, such as downloadable forms.
"Advances in technology are rapidly changing the legal profession. We make it a high priority to provide our members with state-of-the-art services and keep them current with the latest technological developments," said Vincent E. Doyle III, president, New York State Bar Association. "Recommind's search engine has made a significant and positive impact on the utility of the Bar Association's website, and the feedback we have received is extremely positive."
Powered by the award-winning Decisiv Search engine, the new NYSBA.org search application is also used by top law firms and corporations worldwide for internal knowledge search.
"As we updated NYSBA.org, we knew that robust search would be essential to the success of the project," said John C. L. Szekeres, chair of the Electronic Communications Committee of the New York State Bar Association. "Recommind is well known in the legal community for its enterprise search product, and we wanted to offer our members that same high-quality experience. Using search powered by Recommind, users can now quickly and accurately locate information on the website."
"With internet search, users are generally accustomed to finding good results instantly. But searching with different access levels across various repositories is a much greater challenge than your everyday website search," said Dan Bellopede, director of sales, Recommind. "We are thrilled to join with the New York State Bar Association to help deliver the best search results and experience to their members and website users. Many NYSBA members are already familiar with Recommind's software within their own firms, and they will now benefit from an improved search experience on NYSBA.org.”
