Netadmin Systems Demonstrates Digital-Divide Busting Service Exchange Platform for First Time at Broadband World Forum

Nordic market-leading end-to-end OSS/BSS system developer Netadmin Systems showcases transformational technology at the world’s premier broadband event in Paris

26 September 2011 - The telecoms industry elite will catch first sight of a transformational network management product, capable of taking fast broadband to areas outside of reach of conventional technologies at the Broadband World Forum in Paris.

Netadmin Systems’ Service Exchange Platform (SEP) aggregates open access networks enabling any independent network to be responsible for its own administration, operation and IT infrastructure without them becoming complex and inefficient.

Netadmin CEO, Matthias Trygg, commented: “New initiatives for building Next Generation Access (NGA) networks are currently taking place in large scale. The networks are mostly small to mid size and there is therefore a need to standardize the services being offered.

“The Service Exchange Platform provides a single interface so that services and subscribers in multiple external access networks can be managed simply and effectively.  It will boost broadband reach throughout Europe connecting consumers and supporting economic productivity.”

The SEP is a system that provides a single point for managing line access services in different networks. Every network that is connected to SEP is responsible for providing a compliant application programming interface (API) so that service providers can achieve the same functionality for all connected networks.

The SEP defines functionality for support of service fulfillment, service assurance and operations support and readiness processes. It supports service providers and line access providers including capacity/middle-mile/transport providers, as well as active services (Ethernet Active Line Access). It is designed so that ISPs can communicate with an API as well as a Graphical User Interface (GUI). It uses distributed storage architecture for maximum performance and security.

The functionality that SEP offers mirrors the functionality of each network’s system. SEP only manages the delivery points in the network and doesn’t contain any end customer information.
The first deployment of the solution is set to be unveiled in October with a second installation ready for completion shortly afterwards.
