Showcases Major Virtual Desktop Programmes, alongside latest vSpace Solutions for Accelerating Better ICT in African Schools, Colleges and Universities

Hemel Hempstead, UK – May 2, 2013 – NComputing, the leader in accelerating the adoption of desktop virtualisation, today announced its gold sponsorship and participation in eLearning Africa, the international conference on ICT for development, education and training in Africa. The company will be showcasing its latest desktop virtualisation solutions and real-life examples that demonstrate how its simple, powerful and affordable IT solutions are used to accelerate wider access to high quality elearning in schools, colleges, universities and teaching environments in the most challenging and remotest parts of Africa.

NComputing will be at booth 7 and the event runs from May 29th – 31st at the Safari Conference Centre, Windhoek, Namibia.

eLearning Africa will be an excellent opportunity to experience the latest developments in the company’s vSpace desktop virtualisation solutions. The vSpace platform is ideal for educational organisations that want to take full advantage of the benefits of desktop virtualisation, without the high costs, complexity or IT staffing requirements typically associated with deploying and maintaining these solutions. There also is full support for the latest Microsoft MultiPoint Server and how this technology can be maximised for providing shared Windows computing for a class room.

NComputing has a long history of working with African educators, governments and entrepreneurs on delivering IT projects and programmes that extend reliable, affordable and quality ICT access to teachers, students and communities. The company is active across the continent including South Africa, Kenya, Uganda and Ghana among other countries. The success of these many deployments depends on how NComputing solutions are also built for local conditions including lower power requirements than PCs, no need for expert onsite support and a robust hardware design with no need for any air conditioning and no moving parts to break down.

Mark Pilgrim, vice president EMEA, NComputing will be joining the keynote panel of African educators and politicians on the 31st May and will be discussing how NComputing is accelerating elearning programmes, enabling faster deployments of ICT solutions and transforming teaching and learning in Africa today and in the future.
