New Collect Call solution as well as suite of business and consumer applications to be highlighted at upcoming GSM > 3G Middle East Telco World Summit
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates and ATLANTA, Ga., U.S.A. – 23 November 2010 – Movius Interactive Corporation, a global leader in value added communication services, today announced the introduction of its new Pay-4-Me ‘reverse charge’ application for mobile operators. The new service is expected to increase network usage by stimulating additional call traffic, which will also boost ARPU levels.
Unveiled at next week’s GSM>3G Middle East Telco World Summit (30 November to 1 December), the solution allows mobile phone subscribers to make calls even when they have no credit on their own devices by dialing a prefix number to request that the person they are calling accept the call charges.
“We know that many people can’t make calls for a number of days each month because they can not afford to top off their zero-balance prepaid accounts,” said Farid Hilal, Movius Regional Vice President for Middle East and North Africa. “This results in lost revenue for carriers but with the Pay-4-Me application calls that previously could not be made are now possible via reverse billing.
“Not only is this service of value in an urgent situation, for example by enabling a child with no credit to contact his or her parent, it can also be adopted for business purposes so that organizations can accept calls from employees.”
The Pay-4-Me application requires less network resources, making it an economical option for carriers, and can be used in conjunction with other value added services used to meet the needs of business and consumer customers such as Voicemail, Missed Call Notification and Side-Line™ Service.
The latter is another recent introduction by Movius that tackles the need for multiple phone numbers on a single device. People such as entrepreneurs with several small businesses, often have to carry two or more mobiles with them and that has all the inherent problems of security and re-charging for example, as well as the sheer cost of ownership involved. With this virtual second line service, incoming calls and text messages that are for the second number are uniquely identified so the subscriber knows that they were actually for this additional number.
Movius is also addressing the need for carrier solutions that help improve communication and productivity for business customers. Movius® Unified Conferencing offers a real-time audio and video experience that is browser-based and doesn’t require a client to be installed on the PC or mobile device. This solution requires minimal user training therefore giving carriers a high-value, social networking solution for their customers. Individuals can now participate in a video conference from nearly anywhere with any end-point including PSTN, mobile, IP or web.
Visitors to GSM>3G Middle East at the Dubai World Trade Centre, 30 November to 1 December, are invited to visit Movius (booth 34) to experience the Pay-4-Me application and additional applications first hand.
