...Telefonica’s Movistar Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina and ATLANTA, USA – 17 February, 2014 – Movistar Argentina’s “Mi Número Extra” service, based on the Movius Interactive Corporation solution myIdentities, has completed its first full year of service achieving sustained growth.

The solution has been allowing subscribers to have multiple and separately billed voice and SMS personas on their mobile phone without the need for a second SIM card. For the operator this has been a value added service helping to drive additional revenue and providing a strong quality of experience differentiator for customers.

“We have more than 6.9 million contract customers in Argentina, the majority of which are now able to benefit from myIdentities technology from Movius. The service has experienced sustained uptake and we are very pleased with its functionality. We aim to continue the expansion of Mi Número Extra to continue improving customer value and experience,” said Hernán La Rosa, Manager Mobile Products Development at Movistar.

Telefonica in Argentina was one of the first operators to deploy this solution in 2012 within an extensive list of countries where Telefónica operates in Latin America. The service also lets users take advantage of secure separate billing and having the convenience of multiple numbers, without the hassle of having more than one handset.

“We are absolutely delighted with the positive feedback of the service following a full year of deployment,” said Dominic Gomez, CEO, Movius. “A key focus for us has been to help our operator customers to improve the value they get from each subscriber by increasing voice and messaging traffic. When it comes to myIdentities, we are targeting customers in the higher value tiers as a means of increasing revenue and giving differentiation.”

Movius will be attending next week’s Mobile World Congress from 24-27 February. To arrange a briefing at the event, or to set up a telephone interview, please contact Martyn Gettings ([email protected]), Holly Tyrrell ([email protected]) or Matthew Dunkling ([email protected]).
