Moogsoft Wins the Gold Award from Broadband-Testing
« Posted: February 25, 2014, 05:30:49 PM »

New report by testing lab declares “the Moogsoft approach clearly is the future” of network management and application performance monitoring

San Francisco, CA and London, UK – February 25, 2014 – Moogsoft, the leading provider of service assurance software for IT and telecommunications, announced that its flagship product, Incident.MOOG, has received the Gold Award from Broadband-Testing.

Broadband-Testing, an independent network testing facility and consultancy, cited Moogsoft’s new, transformational approach to IT service assurance as setting it apart from other alternatives. “With Incident.MOOG, Moogsoft is rightly looking to effectively reinvent event management for the new generation of hybrid networks,” said Steve Broadhead, executive analyst at Broadband-Testing.

Broadband-Testing’s report cites Moogsoft’s innovation of replacing event management with “situation management” because often, in today’s dynamic environments, no single event indicates the cause of a problem.

“Moogsoft’s adaptive algorithmic approach (clustering) analyzes all potential elements of a ‘situation’ in real time,” states the report. “And because more than one person is going to be involved in these situations, Incident.MOOG uses the idea of Facebook Wall-like ‘Situation Rooms’ where users can comment and collaborate to avoid duplicated effort and ensure faster mean time to repair (MTTR).”

“This award confirms what our customers tell us – they need more than just legacy and me-too event management products that are not fit for purpose today,” said Mike Silvey, co-founder of Moogsoft. “There is an urgent need to apply 21st century technology to assure 21st century support operating models underpinned by joint-vendor partnerships and hybrid compute.”

Phil Tee, co-founder and CEO of Moogsoft and inventor of Netcool (now IBM Tivoli Netcool), created Moogsoft in response to the pent-up demand worldwide for a new approach capable of identifying faults and engaging the appropriate stakeholders to resolve problems quickly in complex, dynamic environments.

To raise awareness about the need to apply advanced technology to solving today’s challenges while preparing for the future, Moogsoft is launching a series of webinars. For more information, visit moogsoft.com/webinars.
