28th Feb 2013 – Ascribe is pleased to announce that Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (“MKH”) has successfully gone live with a new Business Intelligence Centre (“BIC”) created in partnership with Ascribe. Through a series of integrated modules, the Trust is able to draw data from multiple sources and produce analyses and reports that address clinical and operational demands. Utilising Ascribe’s acknowledged experience in healthcare BI Consultancy, the BIC was delivered on time and within budget.

Requests for information previously took hours, days or even weeks to collate and process, before they could be addressed; this process now take minutes.

“Our new Business Intelligence Centre has effectively removed the bottlenecks we previously associated with drawing information from multiple data sources. It’s a powerful tool that enables the Trust to better understand the needs of our patients and to manage our resources far more quickly and effectively” said Jill Patterson, Head of Performance and Information, MKH.

For the first phase of the project, Ascribe delivered seven modules:

    InPatients

    OutPatient Referrals

    OutPatient Attendances

    Accident & Emergency

    Ward Transfers

    Electronic Staff Record

    Datix risk management

Data is drawn from a wide number of separate clinical systems and enables analysis of actual activity against budgeted activity, to aid better resource and financial planning.

“Milton Keynes Hospital realised that the Information Department needed to overhaul the time-consuming and complex processes that previously delayed and restricted access to clinical and administrative information. Our new system is easy to use, a lot faster and as a consequence, a lot more accessible; for the first time, our Managers are able to create and run operational reports themselves.” William Aspinall, Trust Information Manager.

Stephen Critchlow, CEO of Ascribe, commented: “I am delighted that the Business Intelligence Centre project is already starting to deliver real benefits to resource planning and patient care at Milton Keynes Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We look forward to working with the Trust to extend their automation of additional reporting processes in future work phases.

Ascribe was selected by Microsoft as their Healthcare Partner of the Year in 2012.
