Munich, February 19, 2013 – The German security specialist itWatch has partnered with Microsoft, to deliver enhanced security with fine grained, centrally managed security guidelines for Microsoft’s operating systems on servers, PCs, laptops and tablets. As a result of the partnership particularly customers of the recently released Windows 8 based tablet PC can expect huge benefits and cost efficiency. Developed in Germany, itWatch's patented IT-security software expands the protection provided by the Microsoft offering.

Windows 8 offers new capabilities
Windows 8 is already globally available since October 2012. Users benefit from an up to date, touch-friendly user interface, a wide range of new apps and a huge ecosystem. Apart from mouse and keyboard input the new operating system also supports touchscreen input, thus optimizing Windows 8 for the use on tablets. In June Microsoft presented Surface, a series of tablets specially designed for Windows. With Windows 8 all Windows PCs, Laptops and tablets comprise the same services with a consistent handling. As for now itWatch’s exclusive solution completes the Microsoft offering.

itWatch‘s modular IT-security solution offers port and device control with the help of DeviceWatch, as well as application control, including any access permissions, via ApplicationWatch. XRayWatch is responsible for the content control of all incoming and outgoing files, DEvCon in turn is logging many newly defined events, with PDWatch, data is encrypted, whereas the modules CDWatch, DataEx, and PrintWatch can manage media control, secure deletion, and monitoring of print jobs. Potentially unsafe activities can be virtualized in a quarantine or with the Hyper-V, thus leaving the production environment secure.

“With the itWatch Security-Suite organizations are being offered a broad, scalable security portfolio for the secure use of Windows operating systems, especially Windows 8 tablets. Customers can benefit from a consistent security, efficient system management processes, tablets included, thus protecting their investments. This partnership will be highly beneficial for Microsoft customers,” said Ramon Mörl, CEO of itWatch GmbH.

The security product by itWatch is available starting at 4 Euro per module and user.

itWatch is as exhibitor at the RSA conference in San Francisco, USA, 25. -28. February 2013, booth number 1332/ 15, German Pavillion
