Honoured as one of the top European Growth Companies by Europe’s 500 following the European Growth Summit
LONDON – February 04, 2011 – Meltwater Group, one of the world’s leading Software as a Service (SaaS) companies, has been named the 25th fastest growing company in Europe, by Europe's 500, a non-profit organisation to promote entrepreneurship in Europe.
Europe’s 500 has carefully selected and published the 2010 list of the Top 500 growth entrepreneurs in Europe, and held an award ceremony for the Top 200, awarding Meltwater, ranked 25, for its outstanding achievement in generating sustainable growth and jobs.
The former German Chancellor, Gerard Schroeder, handed over the recognition certificate to Jorn Lyseggen, Founder and CEO, Meltwater, at the awards dinner which took place at the European Parliament in Brussels.
"We are extremely proud to be included in such a distinguished group of Europe’s top growth companies. To be ranked at 25 is an outstanding achievement for Meltwater, and it’s incredible to be recognised and honoured as an entrepreneurial led company which continues to grow from strength to strength”, said Jorn Lyseggen. “Meltwater prides itself on its passion for its people and its growth. This award recognises the success created by all our hardworking employees across the world, and gives us the inspiration to achieve yet more growth.”
Jorn Lyseggen, since establishing Meltwater back in 2001, has grown the company to more than 800 employees serving more than 18,000 clients through 55 countries, with no external funding. Meltwater gives organisations sharp, fresh insight into their markets and customers, helping them to understand the dynamics shaping modern business while giving them the tools they need to compete.
This is a fantastic achievement for Meltwater who, as an independent company, has continued to demonstrate a significant percentage in growth, both in turnover and employees.
The award ceremony is a 13 year old initiative and tradition backed by the association of Europe’s 500 – entrepreneurs for growth.
