Thame, Oxon, UK and Stockholm, Sweden: 1 November, 2011: Following hot on the heels of the acquisition of MeetingZone by GMT Communications Partners (GMT), the MeetingZone team has quickly demonstrated its commitment to extend MeetingZone's presence and marketshare in Europe, with today's announcement that it has joined forces with Unified Communication Sweden AB (Unified).
Based in Stockholm, Unified has been delivering conferencing solutions throughout Scandinavia for over five years.
"Unified is a perfect fit for us," said Tim Duffy, MeetingZone's Chairman. "It operates along very similar lines to that of MeetingZone's own highly successful business model. Unified is customer driven and understands the importance of delivering automated conferencing and collaboration solutions which put the customer in control." MeetingZone is an independent conferencing and collaboration service provider headquartered in Oxfordshire, UK with operations in Europe and North America.
With large distances between its business centres and as the HQ of many international companies, Scandinavia has been at the forefront of the adoption of conferencing and collaboration solutions. Unified's location, within this established and strong marketplace, provided MeetingZone with an ideal opportunity to extend its reach.
Duffy added, "We are continually looking for companies who will provide us with similar acquisition opportunities so that we can develop our business through an acquisitive strategy, alongside the high levels of organic growth already being achieved."
"Our merger with MeetingZone is great news for existing Unified customers and will be key to growing and expanding the market," said Mikael Behrenfors, CEO at Unified. "Together we will be able to provide an enhanced service offering which takes ease of use and self service functionality, delivered via MeetingZone's highly sophisticated online conferencing portal, to the highest industry levels."
Unified's Scandinavian customers using MeetingZone's conferencing portal, will now be able to quickly and simply plan, activate, monitor, manage and control audio and web conferencing sessions themselves.
It will now be possible for Scandinavian customers to benefit from MeetingZone's completely transparent online billing system, enabling customers to accurately monitor and manage their conferencing costs from department level right down to individual users.
"Today's tough business environment means that businesses of all sizes are looking to cut costs and do more with less. This is driving a need for proven technology solutions which can help to achieve this. With today's announcement, MeetingZone and Unified can deliver conferencing and collaboration solutions which not only help to cut costs, but make employees more efficient and productive. Improved efficiency and productivity drives up the bottom line. An increased bottom line will help businesses, not only in Scandinavia but throughout Europe, weather the current financial storm," concluded Duffy.
