Mead & Co adds Enhanced PDF working to ScriptX 7.1
« Posted: February 13, 2013, 08:35:23 PM »

13 February 2013: Mead & Co today released Enhanced PDF working as a new option for ScriptX 7.1, the global standard for controlling the printing of browser-hosted content on Microsoft Windows. Enhanced PDF provides organisations with a high degree of programmatic control over the printing of web-based Adobe Acrobat documents through Microsoft Internet Explorer clients within the enterprise. This improves the batching, appearance and consistency of printed PDFs. Client machines do not need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader, increasing efficiency, simplifying administration and tightening security.

Organisations rely on information stored in millions of Adobe Acrobat documents within their enterprises. However printing PDFs from within Internet Explorer requires the installation of Adobe Acrobat Reader on every client computer and provides little control of print settings and appearance.

Enhanced PDF working solves these issues for ScriptX users. It enables the scripting of print-related settings within html so that PDFs automatically match printer page size, including shrinking documents to fit, rotating and centring and allowing the straightforward batch printing and monitoring of PDFs across the enterprise.

ScriptX is the world’s favourite add-on for total control when printing html and PDF documents, labels or bar codes from client and server computers running Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) browser. It ensures that printed formatting and appearance is consistent, whatever the actual browser settings on the individual computer.

“The majority of organisations store a large proportion of their documents in PDF format, particularly within intranets and other web-based applications. Controlling how these are printed by users running Microsoft Internet Explorer is notoriously difficult,” said Jerry Mead, CEO, Mead & Co. “ScriptX’ new Enhanced PDF working option manages the whole process, making it simpler for IT teams to manage browser-based PDF printing and removing the need to install Acrobat Reader on client machines.”

Enhanced PDF working is available now, as an additional licence cost-option for ScriptX 7.0 onwards. More details are available on the ScriptX website and existing licensees can purchase it by contacting support on [email protected].
