Mastek announces G-Cloud III supplier status
« Posted: July 11, 2013, 08:28:37 PM »

Mastek awarded a framework agreement on the latest iteration of the Government’s framework for cloud computing services

Reading, UK – 11 July 2013 – Mastek, the global IT solutions provider for the public sector, financial services and retail industry, has today announced that is has been accepted as a supplier for the Government Procurement Services (GPS) G-Cloud III framework. This latest award means that Mastek is one of a group of service providers that has proven to be agile, cost-efficient and successful when working with the public sector.

The G-Cloud programme, started in 2012, empowers government organisations to buy IT services in a quicker and more competitive way from a wider range of providers. The public sector is facing increasing pressure to reduce spending and government organisations are realising that new technology investments may help improve procurement timeframes, cut future expenditure and increase transparency. By 2015, the UK government will look to funnel 50% of all new IT spend through the programme’s G-Cloud framework - aiming to realise savings of up to £100 million per year by enabling purchasers to easily find and compare low-cost, high-quality solutions.

Prahlad Koti, Head of Government and Health at Mastek UK, comments on the significance of the company being appointed to G-Cloud III: “We are delighted to be selected for the third release of G-Cloud. Our experience in being part of the cloud delivery model has proved to be an exciting time and we are already starting to win contracts with government bodies through it. As the framework continues to grow into its third iteration, it will continue to make it easier for us to do business with the public sector. We have seen many organisations already realise the benefits of cloud services, and with the UK Government encouraging competition among suppliers through the purchase of cloud-based IT, I am sure that we will witness more public bodies making IT purchasing decisions that enable a more straightforward procurement process.”

The Mastek services that are currently available on the G-Cloud are: agile management & development services, business analysis services, business intelligence & data warehousing, design & development services, integrated testing services, service integration and system integration services. Clients are not required to run a full procurement or complete a lengthy competitive assessment to take advantage of these services within their organisations.
