Major Reorganisation At Wick Hill To Facilitate Further Growth

VAD Wick Hill is undertaking major reorganisation in the UK and Germany to build on recent growth, with annual turnover now en route to exceed US$ 150 million.


"Thanks to the quality of our suppliers' solutions and the success of our reseller partners, we are experiencing unprecedented demand for our services."
Changes in the UK include

growth of the technical, professional services and sales teams, with new staff hirings
extensive office refurbishments to accommodate a significant expansion of the sales area
a brand new, custom training centre
the appointment of a UK professional services manager to help maximise and grow Wick Hill's training and professional services offerings
Ian Kilpatrick, chairman of Wick Hill Group, commented: "Thanks to the quality of our suppliers' solutions and the success of our reseller partners, we are experiencing unprecedented demand for our services. Our commitment is to support our partners, through training and knowledge transfer, to deliver their professional services alongside their solution sales, so they can further grow their businesses."

A major part of the UK reorganisation is a new custom training centre, which will double Wick Hill's training capacity. The opening of the new centre is because of increased demand for training courses, which has been growing strongly year on year.

Kilpatrick commented: "Our new training facility is a key factor in our growth strategy. It allows us to run two courses simultaneously, which means both faster knowledge transfer and more opportunities for resellers to sell on courses to their customers and generate increased revenue."   

Wick Hill has long been known for the quality of its training. The company provides a range of courses, both at Wick Hill and on customer sites. It is an accredited training centre for most of its suppliers, with the majority of courses being vendor accreditation courses aimed at value added resellers and their end user customers (through channel partners).

These courses are designed to help channel partners improve their product knowledge, fulfil vendor certification requirements and provide improved customer service. End user clients are also able to gain greater in-house expertise, while individual end users can add to their qualifications. Wick Hill also provides bespoke courses, as well as courses which resellers can white label and sell on.

Integral to the reorganisation is the creation of the new role of Professional Services Manager. This role has just been filled by Barry Davies, an experienced IT and Education Manager, who will be responsible for expanding and facilitating both training and professional services with Wick Hill channel partners.

Professional services are a key element in Wick Hill's successful value added support offering. As part of this reorganisation, the company has restructured and expanded its services team, to provide increased dedicated resources for pre-sales, installation and consultancy.

Wick Hill offers an extensive range of technical and consultancy services to help VARs with the smooth implementation of customer focussed solutions, as well as vendor specific consultancy, designed to ensure that specific products are performing optimally. Wick Hill consultants are highly skilled, qualified and committed, with hands-on product experience
