13th November 2007, Mobile Asia Congress, Macau, China – Roamware Inc., the leader in voice and data roaming and mobile media services, announces Roaming 2.0, a suite of products designed to help mobile operators serve a new generation of roamers, including enhanced support for pre-paid and mobile data roamers. Roaming 2.0 solutions will provide critical business intelligence to roaming managers, accelerate roaming revenues, and combat revenue leakage through fraud.
“Our end-to-end solutions for prepaid roaming are designed for rapid, flexible, and cost-effective deployment by the mobile operators”, said John Jiang, EVP and CTO at Roamware. “With the prosperity in emerging markets driving travel to and from these countries, this infrastructure will be crucial to serving subscribers and inbound roamers alike.”
With this new initiative, Roamware’s new product suite is built to bring operators CAMEL-like services such as Prepaid Local Number to their outbound roamers without requiring support for CAMEL technology or CAMEL roaming agreements. Through its Dynamic Roaming Content Portal, Roamware enhances the user’s roaming experience by delivering contextual information to roamers based on their locations and profiles.
The Roaming 2.0 solutions are also designed to address the ever growing threat of fraud, with a Real Time Roaming Data Capture (RTRDC) solution, that provides live monitoring and dynamic call management.
“Revenue leakage from fraud costs the industry millions of dollars today,” added Mr Jiang. “Since Roamware is installed in over 300 networks around the world, our RTRDC agent will allow operators to share information in real-time. When combined with our Roaming Business Intelligence solution, roaming managers can garner unique insights into their business.”
“With the sustained growth in mobile subscriptions and international travel, roaming remains a highly lucrative revenue generator for mobile operators,” said Deepak Natarajan, VP Marketing and Business Development at Roamware. “This is particularly true in Asia with the anticipated increase in prepaid and data roaming. The Roaming 2.0 suite of products and solutions are designed to specifically address the concerns of these emerging prepaid and data roaming markets.”
Mr Natarajan continues: “We are at an inflexion point in the adoption of data roaming because a new class of content rich services is being offered to consumers. With Roaming 2.0 we can now more fully support those established operators’ roaming businesses, broker relationships with new operators, especially here in Asia, and accelerate data roaming revenues across the industry.”
