Passion Capital, PROfounders Capital and Alexios Vratskides invest in start-up communications platform for young women.
8th November 2011, LONDON, UK. Luluvise is pleased to announce that it has raised $1 million in equity financing from Passion Capital, PROfounders Capital, and prominent angel investor Alexios Vratskides.
Luluvise is a social and communications platform dedicated to young women and their best friends – a new space dedicated to “girl time, all the time.”
www.luluvise.com allows young women to hand pick their closest friends and create a private network of the friends they actually care about. The company’s mission is to re-create the patterns of close female friendship online.
Michael Birch, PROfounders Capital Investment Partner and Luluvise Advisor said, “After being involved with social networking and media for so many years, I’m thrilled to see a space dedicated to the largest market – women – finally coming about. Alexandra and her team are uniquely focused and positioned to make Luluvise the ultimate space for women everywhere. We’re extremely proud to be involved.”
The Luluvise platform streamlines “girl time” activities – talking, sharing, gossiping, and shopping – through a unique online space that aggregates email, SMS, instant messages and other digital modes of communication in one secure and trusted place. All of this is targeted to the most expressive and communicative demographic online: women, who generate more than 70% of the messaging activity on Facebook, spend more than 35% more time on social networks than men, and drive 80% of all consumer spending.*
Alexandra Chong, CEO and Founder of Luluvise, said "This is a wonderful milestone for Luluvise, and for young women everywhere. We have assembled a first-class team of talented investors and advisors, and are excited to launch our service in coming weeks."
