Slough, UK, 14 November 2011 – Logicalis UK today proudly announces its sponsorship of the Row for Freedom campaign against human trafficking, presenting to Julia Immonen, founder of Sport Against Trafficking, with a cheque for £10,000.

To raise awareness and funding for projects directly tackling human trafficking, Julia will lead the first all-female crew of six to row across the Atlantic.  The funds raised from the Row for Freedom campaign will be shared between ECPAT UK (End Childhood Pornography and Trafficking) and The A21 Campaign, which provides victim after-care and structural prevention to victims of human trafficking. The race commences in early December and should take 35 to 45 days, from La Gomera (Canary Islands) to Barbados.

Julia comments; “I was delighted to accept Logicalis’ sponsorship cheque on behalf of the Row for Freedom team and we are excited to put this contribution to good use in the following weeks.”

Julia launched Sport Against Trafficking to harness the positive power of community and sport to raise public awareness as well as funding for projects directly tackling human trafficking.  She has held a number of high profile fundraising events and worked with charities and politicians in this field.

Mark Starkey, Commercial Director at Logicalis UK comments; “Logicalis is incredibly proud to sponsor Sport Against Trafficking in its Row for Freedom campaign. This is a truly compelling charitable activity that will help the lives of thousands of children around the world and, as an international organisation, we are extremely proud to be part of this international and highly challenging endeavour.”
