LINX receives 50th member application of 2010
« Posted: October 27, 2010, 06:46:55 PM »

The London Internet Exchange is pleased to announce that it has received its 50th member application of 2010. The new application, is from Global Transit Communications, the fastest growing IP Transit and Data Connect Services provider in South East Asia.

Fifty requests to join LINX in just 42 weeks represents the fastest membership application rate ever seen at the exchange. This puts the IXP well on target to reach 60 new applications for the year.

ISPs and CDNs from Canada, Kenya, Romania, South Africa and Vietnam, amongst others, have all applied to join this year. On connection each member enhances LINX's global reach resulting in the company being able to offer access to a greater variety of peers and an extended number of routing options.

LINX Chief Executive, John Souter, commented: “Our 370 strong membership are continuing to benefit from the vast number of peering opportunities available to them at LINX. We always strive for network excellence and the rate of applications seen this year merely confirms that networks from around the world are attracted by our efficient and cost-effective peering model”.
