Limavady becomes 24th Town to Install WiFi SPARK’s Free WiFi
« Posted: November 17, 2015, 05:12:58 PM »

November 17th 2015: WiFi has recently been installed in Limavady Town Centre, offering shoppers, residents and visitors free street-based WiFi in the heart of the town centre, covering Main Street, Market Street, Catherine Street and Linenhall Street.

The installation of WiFi in Limavady is part of a wider WiFi town centres project that included the towns of Ballycastle and Ballymoney, which also fall within the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council area.

Tourism is an area of increasing employment opportunities and many activities are geared toward helping to increase the number of visitors to the area. By installing a fully managed guest WiFi solution, the town is able to interact with visitors through the User Experience Portal as well as ask if they’d like to opt in or out of receiving latest news from the Council. The solution, along with its IWF compliant filtering, allows users to connect to the world wide web simply by entering their name and email address to register.

This joint project is part funded by Ballymoney Borough Council, Limavady Borough Council, and Moyle District Council prior to the local government merger, and the Department for Social Development through the Town Revitalisation Programme.

Other Northern Ireland towns that benefit from free WiFi include Strabane, Portadown and Banbridge Town Centre.

Roe Valley Chamber of Commerce President, David Brewster commented “I’m very pleased to hear that Limavady town WiFi is now in place, benefitting both residents and visitors alike. Being online is so much part of our way of life nowadays and enriches the visitor experience in Limavady.”

Many Council's and Government bodies are picking up the publics' desire for safe and swift surfing and that's why WiFi SPARK is chosen every time.
