LG's Blu-ray/DVD/CD Burner & HD DVD Reader for your PC

While looking at the optical drive section of LG's website, I ran across this expensive little gem. LG has apparently created a disc drive that is capabable of reading both Blu-ray Discs and HD DVDs. For some reason it can only burn Blu-ray discs and not HD DVDs. This appears to be the first instance of this type of optical device in the consumer market, to my knowledge. The price is high ($999) but it's to be expected. "Introducing the GGW-H10NI, nextgeneration optical disc format Super Multi Blue Drive. The Blue-ray disc format offers more than five times the storage capacity of traditional DVDs and can hold up to 25GB on a single-layer disc and 50GB on a dual-layer disc. Not only can you record, rewrite and playback the BD format, you can also read and play HD DVDs. Burn Fast, Burn Right with the LG GGW-H10NI." Read full story...
