OSLO, Norway – 20 February 2013 - Birdstep Technology (
www.birdstep.com), a leading provider of Smart Mobile Data and Secure Mobility services, has announced that a major Global Operator and Cisco Systems will demonstrate the data offload capability of its next generation EasySmart mobile data solution during this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona (Birdstep: Stand 7E 80, Swedish Pavilion, Hall 7).
“The greatest challenge for operators is staying ahead of the bandwidth curve while maintaining a consistently high-quality experience as customers increase their demand for video rich content. By supporting Heterogeneous Networks combining access networks such as WiFi with 3G and LTE/4G, we help operators establish flexible platforms that optimize the cost of data backhaul and ensure seamless mobility, particularly in time/latency-sensitive applications,” explains Lonnie Schilling, newly appointed Birdstep CEO.
Birdstep’s EasySmart solution, that has already been deployed by SPRINT and is in trial with other operators in the US, Europe and Asia, provides efficient and transparent offload of data traffic to both trusted and untrusted WiFi networks. Cost-reducing features, real-time data analytics and intelligent triggers for data offload/onload enable operators to visualize and optimize customer experience.
Birdstep’s innovation will also be promoted during Mobile World Congress as a partner of the Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program (SEAP) that was established to create new revenue opportunities in the enterprise mobile business with Samsung products and solutions.
Birdstep will also be launching a new secure, special-purpose mobile product for organizations with high security needs at the show.
