• Revenues of leading 250 Broadcast Systems Integrators top €1.7 billion
(LONDON, UK – 5 November 2009) Systems Integrators are playing an increasingly important role in the implementation of a wide spectrum of Broadcast technologies. Last year the top 250 European Broadcast Systems Integrators achieved combined European broadcast systems integration revenues of more than €1.7 billion.
Installation and “Other Infrastructure” services are very much the core capabilities within this sector with more than 90% of Broadcast Systems Integrators providing such services. Emerging technologies such as IPTV and Digital Signage are providing important additional revenue streams with about a third of Broadcast Systems Integrators claiming to be active in each of these segments.
These are some of the conclusions drawn from Broadcast Systems Integrators – the top 250 – a new database report which is published today by IT Europa, the leading European channel intelligence organisation. The database report provides detailed profiles of the top 250 Broadcast Systems Integrators ranked by European broadcast systems Integration revenues. Although the report profiles spans 26 countries, not surprisingly the greatest concentration of companies is found around the major markets with more than 50% of the top 250 broadcast systems integrators headquartered in the UK, Germany, France, The Netherlands and Italy.
IT Europa's Managing Director, Alan Norman commented: “With the convergence of broadcast, IT and Telecoms technologies and the increasing complexity and sophistication of broadcast systems, more companies are turning to Systems Integrators to help them in developing and implementing new systems. This trend is set to continue and we expect to see further mergers and acquisitions within this sector over the coming year as the major players seek to expand their capabilities and geographical reach to cope with the increasing demands of major broadcasters and other media organisations entering the sector.”
The Broadcast Systems Integrators – the top 250 database report was researched during September and October 2009 and developed in cooperation with BPL Broadcast Limited, the publisher of IBE (International Broadcast Engineer) and other technology titles.
