Abingdon, UK, 18 November 2011 – Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, has been judged the Best Brand at the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 Awards.
The awards dinner, held on 15 November, was attended by owners and directors of Britain’s fastest-growing privately-owned technology (TMT) companies, and featured organisations including Moonpig.com, Zoopla and Gocompare.com.
In October this year Kaspersky Lab was ranked 41st in Sunday Times Tech Track 100, a report which looks to track and rate Britain’s top 100 TMT companies with the fastest-growing sales over the last three years. This was thanks to an impressive figures boost, after Kaspersky Lab’s sales rose to £299.1m in the last year; a 42 per cent increase from 2009.
Kaspersky Lab fought off stiff competition from bet365 and Gocompare.com to scoop the Best Brand Award, which was accepted by Kaspersky Lab’s surprised but delighted global tax director Gary Howlett.
“This is great news for the marketing team and the entire brand related efforts it has worked on over the past year,” explained Gary. “The award was a surprise on the night as I thought I was attending the event merely to pick up our certificate for being listed number 41 of the fastest growing tech companies in the UK.”
“We are all understandably delighted to receive this fantastic recognition of our achievements,” commented Georgina Gilmore, marketing director of Kaspersky Lab UK and Eire. “To receive feedback from industry leaders that they are ‘seeing our brand everywhere’ is testament to the hard work put in by the entire team. This award goes some way to congratulating everyone for their efforts in making the growth and expansion of Kaspersky Lab such a great success.”
