The launch of the Jadu MarketPlace application store is set to make it much easier for the company’s customers to access and implement new features and syndicated content through web widgets (apps), re-usable web parts and forms to achieve significant savings in time and resources.

MarketPlace will allow users to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of their Jadu CMS, XFP and Rupa products. The new store also provides web teams with the tools to overcome resource, time and budget cutbacks by providing downloadable products that provide functionality ranging from enterprise applications to simple features.

The Jadu CMS includes a ‘portal page’ designer that enables non-technical web managers to publish widgets using drag and drop ease. Jadu’s new MarketPlace will include products with a wide range of features from social network integration to integration with SharePoint, CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics and other key back office systems.

MarketPlace will also include a number of pre-fabricated online forms for the Jadu XFP user community, which includes large organisations such as Directgov, City of Edinburgh Council, Manchester City Council and Newport City Council.

There are already a number of products available from MarketPlace for all Jadu products (Jadu CMS, XFP and RUPA) including social media widgets such as Twitter, Flickr and YouTube. Further products include a SharePoint Connector in the latest version of Jadu CMS that enables content to be surfaced as easily as content from the CMS itself.

“We have had the Jadu MarketPlace in Beta with a number of our customers for some months now” says Matt Culpin, Marketing Manager at Jadu. “We have received extremely positive feedback and we know that our customers are finding that the functionality and initial products on offer, make a huge difference to the way they manage large websites and the money that can be saved in development costs.”

In Local Government and Higher Education there are many standard features and online forms that are used and these can now be shared within the MarketPlace community.

Jadu has also put emphasis on it’s technology partners, by developing products that surface content from key back office knowledge and data systems. In Higher Education, Jadu’s partnership with SunGard Higher Education has resulted in the development of powerful Banner widgets. Banner is a globally adopted student administration system developed by SunGard Higher Education. The widgets enable students to sign in to their institution’s web site for a personalised experience.

Similarly, Jadu has developed a number of Directgov widgets specifically to enable their Local Government customers to syndicate content easily from the UK’s online portal and display context sensitive information to website users.

“We have a very exciting roadmap for development of new products for MarketPlace and we’re looking forward to seeing what our customers and partners develop too,” says Matt Culpin.

Jadu MarketPlace provides an effective environment for users to access products and enables users and partners to distribute their products to other Jadu users.  The widgets are deeply integrated within the Jadu CMS and offer seamless and flexible ways to extend functionality of websites.

“Jadu MarketPlace is the beginning of a new way to deliver functionality and integration. App store economies are becoming ubiquitous and Jadu’s plugin framework for widgets, forms and gadgets makes for a powerful non-technical way to deliver functionality and  integration. App stores also facilitate sharing to enable collaboration and innovative developments” says Suraj Kika, CEO of Jadu.

“The great thing, is that we’ve used our own Jadu Retail ‘store building’ module to develop the Jadu MarketPlace, so now potentially any Jadu CMS customer can have their own marketplace.”
