New Vice President of Sales for NEMEA and SEMEA to drive Ingres VectorWise Analytic Database Business

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. — December 1, 2010 – Ingres Corporation, innovators of Ingres VectorWise, a breakthrough analytic database, and leading providers of open source enterprise-grade database, today announced it has hired industry veteran and ex SAS executive, Geoff Sheppard, to strengthen its executive management team. Sheppard will serve as the Vice President of Sales for NEMEA and SEMEA, and will head up sales of Ingres VectorWise.

With over 20-years of experience, Geoff joins us from SAS where he built and managed sales teams covering financial services and commercial sectors with a key focus on generating new business. Prior to SAS Geoff held senior sales leadership roles at Informix/Ascential Software and CA.
