London, 5th November, 2013 – InfiNet Wireless has today announced that it was selected by MaxNET of Sudan, a privately owned telecommunication operator in Sudan, to provide comprehensive broadband services to its corporate customers in the country, using the latest available wireless technologies in the 3Ghz and 5Ghz frequency bands.

MaxNET was established in 2007 as a major Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) in Sudan, offering its customers connectivity services using initially its fixed WiMAX network in Khartoum itself, as well as other major cities in Sudan. It serves a variety of industry sectors including government entities, oil and gas operators, enterprise and financial institutions. For example, more than 95 per cent of the banking sector in Sudan has trusted MaxNET to connect their branches, ATMs and remote offices.

MaXNET quickly reached a stage in its operations where it required higher bandwidth to offer its customers more scalability than was available from its previous infrastructure. Coupled with the fact that WiMAX providers were spending less and less on R&D for this technology, MaxNET selected the InfiNet range of point-to-point (PTP) and point-to-multipoint (PMP) solutions to cater for its growth needs whilst significantly improving customer satisfaction.

Infinet’s InfiLINK 2x2 is its MIMO high-performance broadband wireless PTP family and offers multiple solutions for an all IP-based application, providing greater effective throughput, increased link availability and operating distances in both LOS and NLOS conditions. The InfiMAN 2x2 family consists of a range of multi-sector PMP solutions for a wide variety of applications. It is based on a number of high-speed IP base stations and subscriber terminals (CPE’s), with the base station providing high sector capacity, field-upgradeability to 280 Mbps, all using the same or even less amount of valuable radio spectrum than traditional point-to-multipoint wireless systems. Both these platforms are capable to optimize bandwidth with adaptive modulation thus allowing a large number of end users to share the same links with assured Quality of Service (QoS).

Alfatih Saeed, Broadband Sales Manager, MaxNET, commented: “It was easy to see what the InfiNet solution could offer us in comparison to other wireless manufacturers. We not only required higher bandwidth and the possibility to scale up easily, but also better use of our limited radio spectrum, higher performance and reliability, a true set of QoS features, VLAN capabilities, as well as full flexibility in configuring and deploying the wireless units. InfiNet was able to meet all our requirements and has ultimately helped us deploy the most reliable wireless network in Sudan.”

Kamal Mokrani, Vice President at InfiNet Wireless, added: “We have been working with MaxNET for a number of years now and are proud to be the chosen wireless technology partner, supporting its needs and requirements in its effort to expand its network and give increased capacity and reliability to business and enterprise customers across Sudan’s major cities.”
