In addition to Windows Aero, Windows Media Player 12 and native support for Microsoft VDI through Windows RemoteFX, this powerful and extremely energy-efficient thin client is further characterized by its unrivalled versatility and flexibility. Alongside W7 with native RemoteFX client, it features many other software clients, tools and protocols for access to central IT environments. These include legacy host systems such as IBM Mainframe, Microsoft remote desktop services including RemoteApp, private clouds based on Citrix XenDesktop and VMware View or direct access to web services via the integrated Microsoft Internet Explorer. Like all IGEL thin clients, the UD5 W7 also comes the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) management software as standard. This allows device settings and software clients to be configured, administered and managed remotely on a profile basis, saving time and money.
The IGEL UD5 W7 firmware comes with the latest W7 service pack as standard. The current service pack 1 gives IT managers over 1 GB of free flash memory to use as they see fit.
