…Greenstone to provide ICT footprinting and carbon management solutions to Cable&Wireless Worldwide’s clients…

Greenstone Carbon Management announces a new partnership with Cable&Wireless Worldwide (CWW), the global telecoms company, to provide its Acco2unt carbon management solutions and services to CWW’s clients. Two solutions will become available to CWW’s clients; an ICT energy and carbon footprinting service and Greenstone’s full Acco2unt carbon management solution.

The ICT footprinting service will provide CWW’s clients with a snapshot of energy consumption and carbon emissions arising from their existing ICT estate as a proportion of their overall energy consumption. The results can be analysed according to any ICT equipment connected to the client’s network e.g. servers, desktops, network components, printers, etc. CWW will then be able to demonstrate the carbon, energy and cost savings clients can realise by moving to the CWW Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) platform.

Cable&Wireless Worldwide will also provide its clients with access to Greenstone’s full Acco2unt solution through its cloud based FLEX environment. This will enable clients to purchase Acco2unt to measure, manage and reduce carbon emissions across the full range of environmental metrics including energy, travel, freight, refrigerants, waste and water.

Commenting on the partnership, Matthew de Villiers, CEO of Greenstone said, “We are delighted to have been selected by CWW to provide their clients with these important energy and carbon management solutions. We have seen an increasing interest in clients’ need to measure and reduce their ICT carbon footprint. Our snapshot and future modelling capability works very well with CWW’s ICT solutions, demonstrating the potential cost savings that can be achieved.”

Malcolm Seagrave, solutions director, at Cable&Wireless Worldwide, said: “We are a well established provider of ICT services to global organisations in the public and private sectors. We recognise the need to provide our clients with a range of value added services and Greenstone’s Acco2unt solution will provide them with a best in class energy and carbon management solution to monitor performance across their ICT estate and broader corporate business activities.”
