…Acco2unt version 2.5 enhanced to include carbon emissions analysis from ICT equipment across an organisation with accuracy, speed and efficiency...
LONDON – Tuesday 5th April 2011- Greenstone Carbon Management, the global specialist carbon solution company, has announced today the release of version 2.5 of its Acco2unt carbon management software, which includes new functionality to enable organisations to measure the energy consumption and carbon emissions arising from the use of ICT equipment across organisations.
Matthew de Villiers, Chief Executive Officer at Greenstone Carbon ManagementGreenstone’s software solution, Acco2unt, has been enhanced with a new ICT footprinting capability which covers more equipment types such as servers, desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, network, telephony, imaging and Audio Visual devices. Energy consumption is calculated using a combination of power rating and live, standby and sleep time from each equipment type. The carbon emissions associated with the energy consumption from hardware can then be calculated more accurately by organisations on a single system and according to Defra and GHG Protocol methodologies.
Acco2unt 2.5 also includes enhancements to the automatic receiving of business data from clients’ internal and third party systems, the addition of regional Canadian electricity emission factors and further development of the analysis dashboards.
Matthew de Villiers, Chief Executive Officer at Greenstone Carbon Management, said, “Version 2.5 of our carbon accounting tool, Acco2unt, demonstrates our agility in responding to the evolving market and clients demands. We recognise that monitoring energy consumption and carbon emissions from an ICT estate is becoming an important area of focus for our clients who are looking to target their reduction investment in specific business activities. We are also developing propositions with our partners who operate in the ICT space to help them demonstrate carbon, consumption and cost reduction opportunities to their clients through the implementation of their ICT solutions.”
