Hamburg, Germany. 9 May 2011 – As one of the world’s largest emerging economies, Brazil is one of the main South American recipients of international investment. This reflected in the fact that Deutsche Messe – organizer of the world-famous CeBIT technology trade show – has decided to run a dedicated event there. BITS – Business IT South America – takes place in Porto Alegre, Brazil, from 10 to 12 May 2011. As one of the few German technology companies present, the IT security vendor gateProtect (
www.gateprotect.com) has a booth on the German pavilion at the FIERGS Exhibition and Convention Center, Stand D24.
gateProtect is one of twelve German companies participating in the event in Porto Alegre, located at the heart of the Mercosur economic hub. The IT security provider is driving its expansion into South America soon after growing its presence in North America with two offices in the US. Visitors to the gateProtect stand at BITS will be able to find out more about the latest developments in the area of IT security, such as how to protect corporate networks with next-generation firewall systems.
“Brazil’s not only famous for its carnival or tourist attractions like the Sugarloaf Mountain – it’s also one of the world’s largest emerging economies, along with Russia, India and China,” says Dennis Monner, CEO of gateProtect. “Information technology is clearly a key part of this development, and this is why security is such a crucial factor. We’re participating in BITS to help develop awareness of the importance of IT security in this key market.”
CeBIT goes Brazil – and gateProtect will be there
The first BITS event has been designed as a centralized platform for the South American IT industry. The German exhibitors, with the support of Germany’s Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the high-tech industry association BITKOM, will give visitors insight into German IT expertise. The event focuses on corporate IT infrastructures and communication services, as well as IT and communication systems. South American decision-makers and specialists visiting the trade show will also be able to take part in a range of seminars, forums and presentations.
