gateProtect Signs Distribution Agreement with one of the biggest security VAD's in Thailand
Partnership expands Asian sales channel
Hamburg, Germany. 21.10.2010 – gateProtect, the leading German provider of Unified Threat Management (UTM) systems, announced today that it has concluded a distribution agreement with the Thai security distributor SAB Solutions Co., Ltd. With immediate effect, SAB Solutions is the exclusive distributor in Thailand of gateProtect’s UTM solutions as well as its recently-launched VPN and web/email appliances. SAB Solutions is one of Thailand’s top 5 security companies.
As SAB Solutions already provides products for the enterprise market like Cisco und Checkpoint, gateProtect’s appliances are the perfect complement to its SMB product portfolio. As an exclusive partner, SAB Solutions will also handle technical support for gateProtect, including device replacement at customer sites. SAB Solutions works with four additional distributors in a network that covers the whole of the Thai market.

Against the backdrop of its international expansion and competitive positioning, gateProtect extended its product range in the first quarter of 2010 to include VPN appliances as well as web and email appliances. This enables distribution partners to offer more specific solutions that meet their customers’ exact requirements. The launch of the new products gives gateProtect a competitive edge on the market, especially due to their flexibility as there are multiple ways they can be implemented at customer sites. All gateProtect appliances are delivered with eGUI® (ergonomic Graphic User Interface) technology, which has won several awards. With their ergonomic design, the appliances make security management easier. They also reduce the time and cost of routine administration tasks to a fraction of those required for the configuration of comparable solutions. As SAB Solutions also provides managed security services, the company will benefit from the gateProtect Command Center V3 that will enable them to centrally manage and actively control up to 500 UTM firewalls.
