« Posted: March 16, 2011, 10:17:28 PM »

London (United Kingdom), March 16, 2011 – G Data Software AG today began its charity campaign to help raise funds for the victims of the earthquake disaster in Japan.  Starting today until April 11th 5 GBP from each sale of their full version software will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross to assist the people of Japan and to help repair the damage caused by this disaster. The complete sum of funds raised globally will be transferred when the campaign ends.

“G Data Japan was one of our first international endeavors. Our employees in the region are close members of the G Data family. The scale of the damage and the horrific loss of life continues to grow each hour”, said Dr. Dirk Hochstrate, CEO of G Data Software AG. “The disaster in Japan and the unimaginable suffering brought about by this tragedy hit us too close to home to remain inactive.  We have a sense of obligation to help not only our employees, but those affected by this tragedy. We started this charity campaign to bring an un-bureaucratic aid to the people all the money raised will go directly to those in need.  Our thoughts are with the victims and their relatives”.

Social commitment is nothing new for G Data. Since 2008, the company has supported Plan International, an oranisation focused on alleviating child poverty. As such G Data has adopted 50 foster children in various parts of the world. In addition G Data is currently supporting an AIDS program in Uganda through Plan International. Donations to Plan will not be affected as a result of the current initiative to support the Japanese Red Cross.

5 GBP from the proceeds of every sold copy of the following products will go directly to the Japanese Red Cross to support the victims of the earthquake disaster:

- G Data AntiVirus
- G Data InternetSecuirty
- G Data InternetSecurity for Netbooks
- G Data TotalCare
