Emerson Network Power backs its robust product portfolio with outstanding customer service
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - February 2, 2015 - Based on its recent analysis of the data center cooling solution market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes Emerson Network Power with the 2014 EMEA Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Leadership. Emerson Network Power's Thermal Management business worked diligently to develop a comprehensive product portfolio that addresses customers' needs for efficiency and energy savings. Its constant product innovation and excellent product quality have earned it a preeminent position in the data center cooling solutions market.
Emerson Network Power's end-to-end portfolio covers the entire gamut of cooling applications with products such as:
Direct expansion systems, which can operate at high return-air temperatures, suitable for the higher temperatures of working IT equipment;
Chilled water systems, which maximize freecooling operation all year and include a high-efficiency chilled water floor mount range and freecooling chillers;
The world's first adiabatic freecooling chiller (Liebert® AFC), which combines three cooling technologies (adiabatic cooling, freecooling, and mechanical cooling) and can achieve partial power usage effectiveness (pPUE) of 1.08; and
Indirect evaporative freecooling unit (Liebert EFC), which integrates the indirect air-to-air heat exchange and evaporative cooling technologies in a single footprint.
The company also delivers commissioning and service facilities with predictive maintenance through remote monitoring. It supports the entire critical infrastructure and enhances the network availability with the largest global service organization. In addition, Emerson Network Power's LIFE™ Technology, a remote diagnostics and preventive monitoring service, increases uptime and operational efficiency through continuous monitoring of customers' equipment.
Meanwhile, Emerson Network Power's innovative solution, the Liebert iCOM™ Control, offers the function of a single unit operation as well as multiple units working together (teamwork mode). This is critical to maximize energy efficiency within a data center environment. The patented SmartAisle™ control logic embedded in the Liebert iCOM allows the units to exactly match the servers' airflow needs, ensuring zero power wastage.
Furthermore, in the Liebert AFC and Liebert EFC units, the iCOM Control collects information from different units' key parameters and operating modes while taking into account water and electricity costs. The control predictively calculates and then implements the combination, which optimizes operational efficiency.
"It's a great honor to be recognized for this award as it highlights what we strive for at Emerson Network Power. We are continuously developing a product portfolio that enables customers to maximize their efficiency, capacity and availability, in turn delivering substantial savings throughout the business," said Roberto Felisi, product marketing director Thermal Management, Emerson Network Power in EMEA. "This industry-wide recognition further demonstrates our commitment to innovation as we continue to build technology to make the future of data centers possible."
"In order to enhance reliability, the Thermal Management solutions focused on important features such as redundant components, dual circuits, and quick restart of the system after a power failure," said Frost & Sullivan Senior Industry Analyst Gautham Gnanajothi. "When developing the Liebert AFC, Emerson Network Power focused on achieving maximum reliability through a compressor backup system, guaranteeing 100 percent cooling availability, even during water shortages, extreme ambient conditions, and power failures."
The company has international standard ISO9001 and Eurovent certification, which means that its products undergo independent, third-party testing. Its Thermal Management products do not simply deliver cold air; they provide the air that is required by the server at the right temperature and volume.
"Emerson Network Power's product portfolio is capable of addressing any ASHRAE thermal envelope within the recommended and allowable ranges," noted Gautham. "This, along with its easy availability, reduced total cost of ownership, higher efficiency, lower installation costs and unit modularity, has given it a significant edge in the highly competitive market."
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to the company that has developed a product with innovative features and functionality, gaining rapid acceptance in the market. The award recognizes the quality of the solution and the customer value enhancements it enables.
