Real-time collaboration expert co-presents with Royal Bank of Scotland on bespoke enterprise app development

London, 7 October 2011 – Formicary Collaboration Group (www.fcg.im), a provider of real-time team collaboration solutions, is providing insight on developing bespoke enterprise apps at the BlackBerry Innovation Forum 2011 (www.blackberryinnovationforum.com) being held at Excel in London on the 12th October. Formicary and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) will present a customer case study on BlackBerry PlayBook at 12 noon during the first breakout session.

The presentation will be given by Gavin Adam, head of product management Formicary Collaboration Group and Stuart Crooks, EMEA Head of FICC E-Commerce Sales, RBS Global Banking & Markets (RBS GBM).

Formicary Collaboration Group was a key development partner behind the RBS GBM app for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet, launched in June this year. The app provides the bank’s global financial clients with access to fixed income, commodity and currency (FICC) research and strategy information while they are on the move.  Formicary Collaboration Group delivered the front-end functionality of the app that enables users to view, sort and comment on RBS market information in a secure and compliant mobile environment.

The BlackBerry Innovation Forum is a series of events taking place throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.  It brings together business leaders and mobile innovators who want to deliver genuine customer value and IT decision-makers who are looking to demystify the latest technological developments, experience the future of mobile business and develop and refine their own mobile strategies.

Visitors to the Formicary Collaboration Group stand can discuss ways to roll-out an enhanced communication channel that will make their corporate assets available on the handheld devices of their employees and customers.  The company will also provide insight into how organisations can maximise unified communication technology through Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Group Chat on mobile.

“The increasing reliance on smartphones and tablet computers continues to transform remote and virtual working, with a current key trend being ‘an app for everything’,” explains Gavin Adam, head of product management, Formicary Collaboration Group. “This offers plenty of new opportunities for organisations – but also some challenges.  In particular developing business-focused apps is a task for people with specialist knowledge of both the market sector and enabling mobile ‘unified communications’ technology.”
