Edinburgh, 14th October, 2011: Exterity, the Building IPTV specialist, will be attending xSolutions, the business communication technology event that provides a platform for organisations to introduce technologies and products to a multitude of buying streams, throughout the UK and Ireland. The event is taking place next week at Excel London, from 19 - 20th October.
Throughout the show, the company will be showcasing its market-leading range of enterprise-class IPTV solutions, including recent additions to the portfolio. It will be demonstrating how it enables organisations to distribute high-definition live TV and digital video content over building, campus or wide area IP networks.
Some of the updates include the new AvediaPlayer Viewer which offers integration capabilities supporting the delivery of live HD TV and video streams via PC desktop applications including Microsoft Office. This improves corporate and internal communications as live TV, video addresses from the CEO, corporate training and more can all be accessed in Outlook, utilising space alongside employees’ emails for viewing.
Also on show will be the new AvediaStream Transcoder, enabling organisations to repurpose content to reach the widest possible audience. HD sources can be transcoded for delivery to the desktop, over Wi-Fi to mobile devices or for distribution over WAN/internet to remote offices and employees. H.264 MPEG video streams can also be converted to MPEG 2. This is great for integration with existing SD TVs, STBs and specialist AV equipment that doesn’t support broadcasters’ emerging preference for H.264 transmissions. This removes barriers to implementation due to previous investments in technology.
These additions to Exterity’s family of Building IPTV products bring a brand new set of functionality for the streaming and distribution of TV and video content over IP, further improving enterprise communications and allowing seamless integration with third party technologies including digital signage providers.
“We are looking forward to demonstrating the benefits of our technology in front of a targeted professional audience at xSolutions next week,” says Colin Farquhar, CEO, Exterity. “Exterity’s technology allows businesses to gain absolute control of their TV and video content, making it accessible well beyond the reach of traditional AV distribution solutions. In an increasingly visual age, where cutting edge technology is expected, we are enabling organisations to make substantial communications improvements without compromising the quality of the users’ viewing experience or the performance of the organisation’s IT infrastructures.”
Exterity Building IPTV helps organisations use their existing building, campus, or wide-area IP network to harness the power of TV and video for success. AV over IP enables the same network that furnishes access to business applications (email, internet or IP phone services) to also supply an unlimited number of users with TV from all over the world, executive and training presentations, video on-demand, and digital signage. It enables organisations to utilise existing TVs, AV displays and even personal computers for TV and video delivery while supporting digital switchover and ever-higher picture quality and resolution.
