AMSTERDAM, NL, 28 August 2013 At the EUSATCOM Innovation Awards in Amsterdam, on September 16th, European satellite professionals come together for what is probably the coolest satellite professional networking event during IBC. They meet to enjoy the ambience of the futuristic EYE film museum, discuss the latest satellite solutions and choose the most innovative satcom team in Europe.

The Awards reflect the fact that the satellite industry has entered a new IP-based era that requires new ways of co-creation to meet customers’ demands. Hub Urlings, the event’s organiser, says: "Satcom professionals, IT and broadcast specialists and many other disciplines have to rely on each other and on an open flow of information in order to cope with the complex challenges we see in the satellite market at the moment. EUSATCOM events acknowledge that and are set up in an open relaxed atmosphere."

Entries for the awards come from the most innovative satellite communication teams in Europe, demonstrating the complex multi-disciplinary teamwork involved with the satellite based, IP connectivity, video and M2M solutions that help customers meet the global business challenges they are facing. A shortlist of entries will be published shortly.

Enjoy an Evening Along The IJ
From 6 p.m. onwards satellite professionals are welcomed in the iconic EYE building, in a lounge area with a fantastic view on the IJ and with a number of amazing film and video installations. From here our /LIVE internet studio will provide an online Awards show via www.eusatcom.tv.

From 8 p.m. onwards dinner is served in the IJ-lounge. In between courses will be the different team presentations for the awards, and at around 10 p.m. a voting round will decide the winner of the EUSATCOM Innovation Awards 2013. It will conclude with a prize ceremony, and after that there is time for a final drink. The evening ends at 11 p.m.
