Entries for Technology4Good Awards 2012 close 18 May
« Posted: May 02, 2012, 06:47:44 PM »

May 2nd 2012 - The deadline for entering this year’s Technology4Good Awards is fast approaching and its hosts AbilityNet and BT are urging businesses, charities, individuals and other organisations to submit their entries before the 18th May deadline.

Last year’s Awards attracted 250 entries, including a children’s hospice charity, Lifelites, which takes digital fun and learning opportunities to 5,000 children in hospices nationwide, volunteer-run, Vintage Radio for the over 50s on Merseyside, and a community learning centre and cyber café which grew out of a fish and chip shop in Stockport.

Compere, Mariella Frostrup, is looking forward to meeting this year’s winners at the prestigious awards ceremony, which will take place in July. Winners are chosen by a panel of judges from the business and charity world, who will be looking for people and organisations who are using computers and the internet to make the world a better and more inclusive place.

The unique scope of the Technology4Good Awards 2012’s eight categories offers nominees the opportunity to demonstrate their competence in a range of areas including: accessibility, volunteering, innovation, fundraising, creating partnerships, community action and meeting the needs of disabled customers.
