The 2014 Business Breakthrough Event gives education establishments vital advice on the use of video conferencing and how to unleash its full potential to aid teaching
3 April 2014: With many education establishments still to take the plunge and realise the benefits of video conferencing solutions, the inaugural Business Breakthrough Event aims to bring together key vendors, resellers and industry analysts to dispel the myth that it is only the domain of large scale, global enterprises.
Hosted by global market research company Wainhouse Research, in partnership with unified communications specialist Imago Group, The Business Breakthrough Event will take place on Thursday 29 May at The Brewery, London, with a sister event taking place in Paris on 3 June. Vendors working in the education sector - including Polycom, Vidyo and Smart Technologies - will be on hand to guide end users through the video conferencing minefield and identify applications and opportunities for schools, colleges and universities.
As well as presentations from key vendors, a strong conference line-up includes Owen Ellis, chair of the AV user group, and end users including Thomson Reuters and Neopost giving their views on how best to implement and reap the benefits of video conferencing and collaboration within the organisation. Mina Patel, a consultant from Video Conferencing for Learning (VCFL) will also be on hand to offer advice to educators who want to develop video conferencing technology in their classrooms and lecture theatres.
"Video conferencing solutions have moved on a great deal over the past few years. Innovative technologies have made it a more viable and cost effective option for schools, colleges and universities to enhance learning, improve performance and collaborate on projects with students and schools from across the UK and beyond," comments Wayne Mason, event director and head of group products and marketing at Imago Group.
"As with any new technology, implementing video conferencing is considered a huge undertaking for any school or college with many not having the luxury of an IT department or expert to help them manage the process or advise how to get it right. The Business Breakthrough Event aims to bring a wealth of experts together in one place, making it a great forum for those working in education to be enlightened or enhance their knowledge of how video conferencing can benefit their workplace," he continues.
In addition to a strong conference and speaker line-up, the 2014 Business Breakthrough Event will feature hands-on exposure to the latest solutions in the areas of video conferencing and unified communications, with an exhibition hall giving attendees the opportunity to meet and speak directly with some of the world's leading technology suppliers and industry experts.
