London 30 June 2011 - The first of Econsultancy’s
MSc in Digital Marketing Communications students, all of whom are senior marketing professionals, have graduated with merits and distinctions. The university examiners described the quality of the dissertation work undertaken as ‘outstanding’
Econsultancy’s MSc in Digital Marketing Communications was launched in 2007 as a three-year part-time programme designed specifically for digital professionals. Accredited by Manchester Metropolitan University and endorsed by number of industry bodies, including BIMA and the IAB, the course was the first of its kind and is now firmly established as the market leader. It combines industry-led training and sound academic principles to deliver a qualification which is highly relevant, immediately applicable and internationally recognised.
David Edmundson-Bird, Programme Director at MMU, commented “The course continues to go from strength to strength and this year’s results are fantastic. To complete a course at this level whilst working full time is a real achievement but to complete it with merits and distinctions is a triumph. The standard of work has been phenomenal.”
Vivien Underwood, Econsultancy’s Training Manager and Qualifications Manager commented “Econsultancy is thrilled to see the delegates’ success. The programme is now recognised throughout the industry as providing top flight practical skills along side a respected academic qualification and results such as these cement its reputation. The MSc is quite an investment and it’s incredibly satisfying seeing it pay off.”
Daniel Tomlinson, Marketing Manager at Trutex, commented; "The MSc has been a tremendous learning experience and I'm thrilled to have earned a distinction. Marks aside, the programme has been an extremely positive challenge, allowing me to explore the digital landscape in more depth than I could through work alone. I have developed a significantly more strategic approach to digital marketing and being able to apply what I'm learning in the work environment demonstrates that I've graduated confident in my skills, rather than simply waving a certificate. There's plenty more to learn but I feel a lot more confident about tackling the challenges of this fast moving industry with the MSc qualification behind me."
Lucy von Weber, Project Manager at South West Wales Tourism Partnership, said “I think that the absolute value of this MSc course has been that throughout the three years I’ve been able to apply every single training day and academic session to my work situation. The MSc has managed to successfully combine contemporary digital practice and sound academic marketing principles, backed up with an excellent online support network. As a result, my dissertation is already being used to inform business planning activity. Definitely worth all the hard work!”
In addition to the MSc in Digital Marketing Communications, Econsultancy also runs the MSc in Internet Retailing. Intakes for both programmes start in September 2011, with the application deadline on 18th July. For further information regarding Econsultancy’s academic programmes, visit
