Ascribe, the leading UK provider of integrated healthcare IT services and solutions, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a ten year contract by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (“Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals”) to provide key components to the Trust’s iHospital Electronic Patient Record system (“EPR”). The first major modules to be included are a Patient Administration System (“PAS”) and an Emergency Department clinical system at three sites. The scope of the contracted solution also includes the provision of implementation services: business transformation, business intelligence and integration.
The Ascribe PAS & ED solutions will form a key part of the Trust’s priorities to improve both the efficiency and safety of patient care. The Trust will benefit from using integrated clinical systems to analyse and understand patient workflow and use this data to better inform care decisions.
The Ascribe solutions, based on an integrated Health Application Platform, provide a modern architecture which enables the trust to develop further solutions and add additional clinical modules when required.
Ascribe’s PAS system replaces the Trusts legacy McKesson installation; this will provide key modules for the management of outpatient, waiting lists, inpatients, clinical correspondence, clinical shift hand-over, choose & book and the management of referral to treatment pathways. In addition, the 3M Medicode clinical encoder is provided as an integrated module of the PAS to speed up and improve coding accuracy.
Ascribe’s solutions were selected through a tender submission and review process. Ascribe’s PAS and Emergency Department (“ED”) solution emerged as clear winners, delivering integration and patient workflows designed to improve patient safety.
Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals provides services at three hospitals. The Trust serves a population of over 420,000 people in South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas.
Stephen Critchlow, Executive Chairman of Ascribe said, “The opportunities presented by our recent merger with EMIS, using our Health Application Platform, mean we can support the delivery of integrated patient care across Primary, Secondary and Community settings. I am very pleased that Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals have chosen to join with Ascribe on this journey”.
