« Posted: October 01, 2013, 08:54:17 PM »

Day two of the fastest growing end-to-end enterprise IT event, IP EXPO, will open with a keynote address from Mike Schutz, Microsoft General Manager, Windows Server and Management, Product Marketing. Day two takes place on 17 October, the same day that Windows 8.1 releases internationally.

Schutz has a well established reputation in the industry and leads a team at Microsoft focused on helping customers and partners to gain the most advantage from server, data centre and end-user computing technology, and smooth the way to move to the cloud.

Schutz, alongside Daniel Roach-Rooke, IT Infrastructure Manager, Aston Martin, will be presenting a seminar titled Microsoft Cloud OS – the vision and modern platform that is now delivering new forms of value today. The keynote will cover how Aston Martin is driving performance, strategy and innovation using Microsoft Cloud OS and benefiting from the scalability, speed and agility of this modern cloud platform.

A number of thought-provoking seminars will follow, addressing the event’s key themes of Mobility & Devices, Governance & Risk, Data & Analytics, Networks, Storage, Virtualization, Cloud, and Security, delivered by acknowledged experts from industry-leading players.

With the issue of security playing such an important role in the IT industry, Andy Thurai, Intel’s Chief Architect and CTO, will deliver a keynote, Securing the newer technologies (API, IoT, Big Data) in the right way, based on his experience in developing the architecture for SOA, cloud, mobile, big data, governance, security and identity solutions for Intel and McAfee enterprise customers.

Annika Jimenez, Global Head of Data Science Services, Pivotal, will address one of the hottest topics of the moment, big data, in an astute seminar titled: Beyond Digital: The Data Science Frontier and the Path to Data-driven Transformation. As a seasoned leader of analytics initiatives, Jimenez is well-known for her views on applied data and acute focus on action-enablement and brings this passion and expertise to the fore with her presentation.

In today’s economy, many large organisations are facing the challenge of balancing budgetary constraints with innovation. This issue which will be addressed in a lively panel discussion titled The Road to Change and Innovation in Public Sector ICT, hosted by Bryan Glick, Editor-in-Chief of Computer Weekly. Participants in this debate include Anthony Kemp from London Borough of Hounslow; Dr Mark Thompson from Cambridge Judge Business School; and Rob Miller of Kingston & Sutton.

Balaji Sivasubramanian, Cisco Director of Product Management, will tackle one of the industry’s major trends – software defined networking – in his seminar titled, Software Defined Networking – Approaches to Network Virtualization which looks at the ways in which network virtualisation can be used to solve networking challenges around agility, resource utilisation and on-demand cloud deployments in enterprise data centre and cloud providers.

In addition to this line-up of thought-provoking keynotes, IP EXPO 2013 will offer 14,000 attendees the opportunity to interact with over 250 exhibitors and benefit from a number of themed sessions that address the current and future states of the technology market.
