Datora Telecom, one of the top-three largest international termination carriers in Brazil, is growing wholesale capacity using the SBC VoIP Peering solution from DIGITALK, a UK-based vendor of consumer, carrier and mobile platforms and applications to competitive service providers worldwide. The DIGITALK carrier solution now supports more than 1,000 VoIP carrier interconnects at Datora, using SIP, SIP-T and H.323, and incorporates remote media access to minimise international call latency.
The DIGITALK SBC VoIP Peering platform is a complete network solution for international wholesale service providers. The solution is based on DIGITALK's carrier-grade, high capacity Carrier Session Border Controller supporting signalling interworking, carrier and topology hiding, media relay, DTMF interworking and dynamic media transcoding. The platform’s management capabilities include advanced margin- and quality-based carrier routing, real-time rating and credit control, and service monitoring and reporting.

Wilson Otero, CEO of Datora, said “We needed an infrastructure partner to help us grow at a more flexible scale and pace. We reviewed the market and found DIGITALK to be the best-of breed technology, whilst also being able to meet our high quality and cost-efficiency requirements.”
Justin Norris, CEO of DIGITALK adds “Our platform solutions deliberately balance robust performance with operational flexibility to allow our customers to offer both compelling and relevant services. This is integral to working with DIGITALK, so Datora sharing our philosophy on a solution that is fit for now, and that will support them as their markets evolve is delightful to hear.”
The DIGITALK Carrier Platform has been fully integrated into Datora’s network and operating since June 2011. Wilson Otero added that “The calibre of the engineers at DIGITALK since activating the platform has proved that our investments were placed well and we know that we have a reliable and flexible partner.”
