New remote functions considerably expand range of uses

Bracknell, 15 April, 2010 – ABBYY, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture, and language software, today announced the first ABBYY FlexiCapture 9.0 version with remote functions.  The new release permits remote installation of scanning and data verification stations. This enables documents to be processed and verified without any restriction to location. Flexible in processing of documents of any kind and any size, with the new features the product now offers a broader range of uses.

Due to the features in this release, documents can be processed at corporate headquarters whilst scanning and data validation can be handled in a dedicated area, within the company or remotely. The hardware such as computers, network scanners and multifunction devices which are needed, can be found in most offices already. Business crucial documents can now be processed from regional offices without any delay. The documents can be scanned electronically on the spot and then sent to headquarters for central recognition und further processing.     

Further changes are the improvement in setup, installation, project development and defining templates to recognise forms, semi- and unstructured documents. The new release also offers additional user interface languages including Spanish, German, French and traditional Chinese, besides the already available languages English and Russian.
