William and Tasha Isaac had a tough time in school. William, 12, struggled in school because of his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and Tourette syndrome. Tasha, 10, also has ADHD, and was in an emotional support classroom where her mother, Roberta Isaac, thought she was being taught down to. Now the New Oxford-area children finished their last school year with As and Bs. That's because instead of sitting in a classroom like most of their friends, they took their courses online, joining the 17,000 Pennsylvania students in cyber-charter schools. They are enrolled in the Pennsylvania Distance Learning Charter School, one of 11 cyber-charter schools in the state. "They're both very intelligent children, but they learn in a different way," their mother said.
